COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SEMANTIC OF SOMATISM دست DAST “HAND” IN THE POEMS “FARHAD AND SHIRIN” BY ALISHER NAVOI AND “BUSTAN” BY SAADI SHIRAZI

Abstract

From immemorial period, many languages have an inextricable connection with each other, which contributes to the development and  perfection of languages, which is expressed through the works of outstanding poets. The same can be noticed in Persian and Turkic languages.  Words were borrowed from each other and acquired new meanings.  This process is often observed in the works of poets and writers who lived and composed their works in the Middle Ages.  Since Alisher Navoi, who created works with high skill in the Turkic language, knew Persian and Arabic languages perfectly In his works he wisely used words of  Persian and origin Arabic , including somatisms.  In previous studies, we observed the use of somatisms in the poem "Bustan" by Saadi Shirazi, which was written in the 13th century and its phenomenal work in Persian.  One of the somatisms used in the poems of both writers is دست dast, which was used in different meanings.  The purpose of this competition is identification and comparison the somatism دست dast in the poem "Bustan" by Saadi Shirazi and "Farhad and Shirin" by Alisher Navoi. As a result of the study, it was found that the somatism دست dast has several meanings and the frequency of its usage in the poems of both writers.  In this article, the above somatism was analyzed semantically on the basis of the Persian poem "Bustan" and its meaning in the Uzbek poem "Farhad and Shirin" by Alisher Navoi, and their contextual meanings were revealed, as well as the frequency of  somatism دست dast in the poem "Bustan" by Saadi  Shirazi and "Farhad and Shirin" by Alisher Navoi. We can conclude that both writers skillfully used the somatism دست dast in their works and showed that it can convey other meanings in Persian and Turkic languages.
