Abstract

the article examines Quranic motifs and images in the maqams by Abul-Qasim Mahmud al-Zamakhshari, the famous medieval philologist, writer and philosopher from Khwarezm. A brilliant expert and commentator of the Quran, in his work Al-Kashshaf he annotates the holy book of Muslims not only from the point of view of its religious precepts, but also as a philologist. He was one of the first to pay deep attention to the study of stylistic merits, lexical richness, rhetoric, and the beauty of the Quran sayings. The influence of the Quran also affects the literary heritage of al-Zamakhshari, which included many Quranic reminiscences and images that carry various semantic loads in the works of the writer.
