THE ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE RELIGIOUS FACTOR IN THE SOCIO-POLITICAL LIFE OF MALAYSIA IN THE XX-XXI CENTURIES

Abstract

The article examines the role and significance of the religious factor in the socio-political life of Malaysia in the XX-XXI centuries. The religious factor and its influence on modern society are assessed, based on evolutionary development, ancient religious teachings and their role in the society of Southeast Asia, in particular in the society of Malaysia in the twentieth century, are determined. The concept of “Islam Hadhari” and its meaning is explained, state-religious relations in Malaysia are analyzed.
