Abstract

The article examines issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation in strengthening international relations, issues of strengthening the image of Uzbekistan in the international arena through the development of mutually beneficial relations with the countries of the Central Asian region, foreign countries and international organizations, the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, and also highlights the effective cooperation of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis with the parliaments of foreign countries and international organizations.

The implementation of the priority goals and objectives set in the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan and the strategy “Uzbekistan — 2030”, the uniqueness of inter-parliamentary relations of the Oliy Majlis, and also analyzes the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations in connection with the state’s open and pragmatic foreign policy.

The improvement of international relations of the parliament is intensified from year to year by the initiatives of Sh. Mirziyoyev, and the significant increase in the coverage of inter-parliamentary friendship groups is comparatively analyzed.

The relationship of the Oliy Majlis with traditional partners - the countries of Central Asia, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Turkey and possible important aspects of the development of inter-parliamentary relations with “peripheral countries” were studied.

In addition, attention is paid to establishing parliamentary relations with the United States, the countries of the European Union, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and the countries of the Middle East, which are within the sphere of interests of the Oliy Majlis.

The development of inter-parliamentary relations with the Oliy Majlis and the countries of Central Asia was also analyzed, and the important role of these partners in foreign policy was explained in detail.

At the same time, promising proposals have been developed for implementation in the medium and long term in order to ensure and develop the work of the Oliy Majlis in interparliamentary areas.
