THE LEADING PRINCIPLES OF STORYTELLING OF THE TURKISH AUTHOR MUSTAFA QUTLU

This article examines the stories of Mustafa Qutlu, one of the famous writers of modern Turkish storytelling. His life and work, the artistic language of his works, the sources of the writer’s words, the sphere of literary influence, as well as the leading principles and methodological uniqueness of the literary work are discussed. The most important aspect of the stories analysed in the article is that after the 90s, Turkish storytelling has risen to a new level of quality. From this period, Turkish story writers turned the principle of depicting real life problems against the background of human psychological conditions into the main principle of creativity. In particular, M.Qutlu’s work is led by the principle of reviving the traditions of Turkish folklore and Eastern classics in a modern way, and on this basis, updating the genre, plot, character and style components. In his stories, plot motivation, modification of symbols are used appropriately. Characters such as Khizr alayhissalam, Dada Korqut, a Sufi, a storyteller, a mermaid, and the sea are artistically developed against the background of a new plot and a new narrative reality.
In covering the topic of the article, the writer wrote “Karpuz” (“Watermelon”), “Sebebimsin” (“You are the Reason”), “Kötü Bülbül” (“The Nightingale’s Revenge”), “Çiğdem Güzeli” (“Beautiful Boy”), “Shafak Pembesi” (“The Color of Dawn”), “Hayat Güzeldir” (“Life is Beautiful”) and other stories were analysed.
