In literature, the issues of tradition and innovation are among the most relevant. Each writer is both a successor to the traditions of his predecessors and at the same time a promoter of innovation. In this regard, these features can be seen in the work of the two writers analyzed in this article. George Salim, an Arab writer who worked in the second half of the 20th century, began his work continuing the traditions of realism, and continuing his work in the second stage, he adopted modern trends such as modernism. To date, Isajan Sultan is one of the writers who occupy a special place in modern Uzbek literature, continuing the traditions of his predecessors and creating modern stories. This article analyzes the features of tradition and innovation, that is, through the stories of Arabic and Uzbek writers.
