This article analyzes the exposition of Islamic psychology (ilm an-nafs) in Hakim Termizi's work Navodir al-usul fiy ma'rifati ahadis ar-rosul and its impact on human spiritual upbringing. The work deeply examines the psychological and spiritual elevation of a person through different levels of the nafs—nafs al-ammara (commanding self), nafs al-lawwama (self-reproaching self), and nafs al-mutma'inna (tranquil self). Termizi identifies purifying the heart, controlling the nafs, and drawing closer to Allah as the key factors in achieving spiritual and psychological stability. The ideas presented in this study significantly contribute to the development of Islamic psychology, highlighting the importance of inner struggle (nafsiy kurash) and heart purification as fundamental principles in shaping an individual’s inner world.
